about
i am a cognitive science major with specialization in human-computer interaction. i would absolutely love to work in a fun and exciting environment. i feel that i have a solemn determination not to settle for a cubicle but i will always strive for a creative, fun and liberating atmosphere as exemplified in pixar animation studios and ideo.
i have discovered that i am more interested in the human psychology aspect of hci. i love fulton’s “thoughtless acts” (also because i was a former visual arts major and thus, love the photography), currently reading and thoroughly engrossed in casey’s “set phasers on stun,” found sacks’ “the man who mistook his wife for a hat” just as captivating.
i realized that majors do not exist to fit human beings into nicely demarcated boundaries but rather that they are simply feeble attempts to capture the core of the interesting thing that people want to study. and therefore, i would say that my “major” is a blend of human-computer interaction and engineering psychology. although cognitive science is already wonderful diverse and interwoven, i still need something a bit more finely mixed.
